While fighting Grand Jaggi for the umpteenth time, I discover that (-) skips the annoying death animation.

I only learned that one after killing Jhen Mohran so many times... you pretty much have to skip his death animation if you want to hit all his carve points since getting to him often involves hiking across the map.

Reminds me of the .Hack series for some reason...

Reminds me of the twenty seconds before returning to the city after completing a quest is completed.

HAHAHAH thats not Monster Hunter anime. Its actually an Anime/Manga called Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai. The two girls are always fighting "IRL" so thats why they are always killing one another in this episode.

Yeah, that's not the whole focus of the show at all.

Still its a good "Image" of what it would be like if the game was real... :P

EDIT:: Oh but there is a Manga actually based on it... http://mangafox.me/manga/monster_hunter_orage/

Disappointed about that Gigginox. We could've had it if I capped it, but I did not for various silly reasons. We handled it pretty well otherwise.

My friend arrived just before that, you should have heard him while he watched.
Instead you just heard his bad advice when he ganked the keyboard. Admittedly it was like 12am and I was playing really badly.

Also, I may have a new rival with Agnaktor instead of Lagiacrus now. I've never actually been oneshotted with this character before today.

Did you get nailed with the beam?

I read Orage a long time ago. It was neat, but kinda weird and not that connected to the actual "plot" for lack of a better word, of the games though it did fill in some details about how the guild works. Also I want that bladewhip.

Friend or no, I should've just capped it. Another reason I didn't was that I was hoping we could just kill it, and was holding off unless things got too risky. But, 2/3 faints is already a pretty bad situation. Funnily enough, I was about to cap at the end there as I was at like half HP or something, but as I was running to place the trap I saw Giggi toss G into a combo. :< I WILL NEVER FORGIVE MYSELF AAA

Agnaktor has always seemed like one of the tougher monsters to me. Part of it could be that I just almost never hunted them, so it was unfamiliar. They're also pretty strong, have an attack that's great at comboing people to death and have that stuuupid armor when cooled.

Yeah, I agree. Agnaktor has to be one of my least favorite monsters, mostly because of its burrowing ability. The ability to attack without being attacked is a seriously unfun concept, IMO. Lots of other monsters have them, yeah, but not to the extent of the Agnaktor, who'll even set you on fire while doing so.

You should've seen Rathalos in MH1 then. Nothing like timing out on the mission despite dealing damage every second he's on the ground because he spent literally 25 of the 50 minutes flying around out of reach taunting you.

He spends much much less time flying and more time attacking in MH3, which is A-OK with me.

The only two monsters so far in MH3 that I still have substantial trouble with are Barioth and Diablos, who both move ridiculously fast and hit like a truck. Diablos is terrifying while he's angry, which from the time he's half-dead onward is roughly 98% of the time.

I had trouble with Barioth until I said screw it to using a hammer and went with... Gobul SnS I believe? Instead of going mad trying to dodge everything, I just started blocking his hits. Paralyze and bombs never hurt either...

No, actually, I dodged the beams. I was using a potion and he tunneled up from under me.

Barioth is also one of the monsters whose parts you want to break whether you need the drops or not. Breaking his wings will cause him to stagger every single time he uses certain attacks, even in rage mode, which results in huge openings to hit him. His tail also has quite a reach and can be tough to avoid, so I usually take that off once a wing is broken. Once you've got that done, he becomes so much easier to handle.
Barioth will be... fun. I think I will leave off hunting him until I can get the Rathalos parts I need for the Red Bludgeon.
I have a feeling for both hunts I will be pretty useless with my hammer and just be the Cha-Cha of the group.

Funnily enough I had an easier time with Gigginox in solo, since I usually only get hit by monsters if I don't know the patterns or I think they are aiming for someone else and they suddenly charge at me. That or if they combo me like a punk, of course. Damn you Rathalos!
