I'm thinking of picking up this game again and wondered if anyone is still playing it or willing to pick it up again.
Only restriction is that you have to be on the EU servers to play with me.

Anyway, I'm at the end of the singelplayer campaign and pretty much geared for every monster in the game.
I believe my online progress is somewhere around Lagiacrus.

So, if you're interested, just let me know.

I'm in the USA so i don't think I can play on EU servers. I wish I could.

SnS are definitely awesome.
I have the Royal Claw, and it wrecks shit on anything.
Or at least is feels like it does, because of the huge sprays of water, and it can kill a Rhenoplas (or whatever, the desert rhinoceros thing) in one combo.

I'm stuck on the offline quest that appears right after the Royal Ludroth one, the one with the rock wyvern.
You have no idea how much time I spent trying to kill that flamboyant mother fucker with the Ludroth's nail. I finally got it with about three minutes to spare, and gratuitous amounts of insults.

I loved the music in MH1, but I'm sad that it hasn't reappeared besides a few short one second clips here in there.
Ah well, a game can't have everything.

Yeah, the server seperation is too bad.
However, it's the only way to solve latency issues for the greater part.

Aah, the Barroth, that angriest, most raeg-inducing monster in the game. Took me a long time to kill that one. Ludroth's nail would be okay on it I guess, as long as you make sure it stays muddy.

Most rage-inducing? That would have been Agnaktor for me.
Wouldn't drop his damn beak. I had to beat him a couple dozen times, until I got one.

The angriest is definitely Diablos. He'll start raging a few minutes into the fight and proceed to not stop raging until you kill him. Like, when he finally calms down, a single combo will set him off again. And he moves about 10x faster while angry.

Coincidentally he was also the most rage-inducing for me. We were like mutual rage buddies. >:(

I'm stuck on the Barroth, unfortunately. I get creamed with the Switch-Axe, and the lance takes so long that everyone else in the party dies before I do when I'm online. Not to mention I cannot make better weapons until I get Barroth or Lagiacrus bits, so I'm stuck there, too.

Yay.  ::)
explain your tactics please?

I remember doing pretty good with that Ludroth Greatsword against him.
Used a Rhenepolos armor at that time, to be immune to mud, so I could get a lot of extra hits on him.

Also, traps and bombs, never forget those.

So, what's the easiest way for an HR 5 hunter to get mega demondrug?
I know that you can only get it from a Gigginox, but I'm not at those quests yet.
I need it for the Quropeco Chopper that I want to make.

I'm pretty sure you can get Pale Extract by sending the fishing boats to hunt monsters in the 3 star region offline. That's probably how I did it.
Online....don't know. Maybe the trading shop or combo pot?

Back when I first got the game, I had aspired to get at least one good weapon of each type.
Now that I've picked it back up almost half of a year later, I don't know what I was thinking.
My play style requires the SnS to work, because of the high mobility, and quickness, coupled with the ability to block, that other weapons simply don't deliver.
Once you start getting SnS that do more Elemental than raw, if you fight the right monsters, they'll go down in almost no time.

*high five*

I've always thought it best to stick with and try to master a single weapon type, especially since they each play so differently. You can build up an impressive muscle memory with it.
It was especially noticable when fighting Rathian for the first time in Tri. Her attacks and openings were enough like in MH1 that I managed to beat her while only taking damage twice on the very first try. This despite not touching MH1 since a few months before the servers went down in 2007.

I've been playing MH3 on and off for a while now.
It's my first MH game, and I'm really loving it. I'm HR 27 using primarily GS (I love you, Vulcanvil.) and I'm trying to raise my rank some more. I have equipped full Rathalos armor, and I also have full Laggy in storage.

My order of weapons, best to worst...
1 - GS
2 - SnS
3 - Hammer
4 - Longsword
5 - Switchy
6 - Lance (Seriously, do not ask me to use this.)
7 - Bowgun (I've hardly tried it.)

I like GS because getting that perfect charge attack on the neck is so very satisfying.
SnS I'm good at, but I don't use it too often.
Hammers are fun, but hammerlaunch addicts piss me off.
Longswords are cool, but they suck if you can't keep a combo going, and you end up sending your teammates flying half the time.
Switchies are nice to use due to their beastly sword mode, but I never really got into them.
From what I hear, MH3 turned lances into an overpowered piece of crap, and I dislike the fact that they can't roll anyway.
Bowguns. Ugh. I used them once, and did some research. From what one person said, they kept running out of ammo. And I hate limits.
