You can deal with the airblast with a skill, or by being in a GS swing or charge while it happens. I have a great time killing Rathalos because their landing makes them nice and squishy for a GS in the face.

The crouch and look around one, I have no idea.

I just died again.  I don't know why this game hates me so much.  I did everything right.  Stunned it, hit it, trapped it, two bombs in the face, chopped its tail off, bombed it when it went to sleep, dodged its charges, hit it in the head when it fireballed, flashbombed it (Which is stupid, by the way, maybe one out of ten actually dizzies it and you can only have five).  I don't know what's wrong with it, but I just can't kill it.  I had the supply potions, ten regular potions, three mega potions...  It's like it's engineered to piss me off.  Whatever, I'm going to bed, and I'm going to try again tomorrow morning.  If I lose again, I'm purging it from my hard drive, and salting the bits it occupied.  I can't even be happy with killing some of these monsters, because I'm so pissed off when they finally die that it drowns the satisfaction.

So flashbombs only work in the following scenarios.

1. The monster is looking at the bomb.
2. The monster is close enough to the bomb to be effective.

The first one is moderately easy to take care of, but the 2nd one can be a pain since it's hard to judge their "sight range" sometimes.

Anyone one know of a break down list of armor skills? The monster hunter tri wiki is missing a few and I do not know what some skills do, sniper and detect for example. I could guess at what they are, but I dont know if I am right and what the cap levels are ect.

Hmm all I can say is try gamefaq? There was a site I'd direct you to thats always had good charts and such but it appears to have gone down, possibly for good this time.
edit: nvm found it, it had changed its url.

Uhh, are you talking about Gamefaqs.com? Like, here? I haven't looked to see if they have what you want though.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Don't forget "The monster isn't doing anything"  If it's taking off or just finished a charge the bomb won't work, even if it goes off an inch from its eye.  Oh well, I finally deleted it.  No point spending hours getting armor to get better armor.  If I'm gonna do that I'll at least do it in an MMO, so I have something to show for it.

Loving this game, oh jeez.

@jnecros, you know that you can use the wiimote pointer to point at skill names for a description of what they do? Took me a while to figure that out. :/

If it's too CLOSE it might not be in its cone of vision, you know. Throwing INTO or past its face is generally a more likely problem than throwing it too far.
