Thunder S is pretty much ANTI-PLESIOTH AMMO - it pierces for several hits down its entire body.

Also, does that armor set have Evade+2 naturally or gemmed?

Also, one of my regular hunting group is a bow user. His status coatings made our three-hunter victory possible in the Hunting God's Free-For-All.

I'm thinking of using BG in MH3. It looks to me that it might not be a good idea to get too used to just one bowgun type. Different situations might call for different bowgun weights.

Mostly depends on your dodging skill I would imagine. If you don't get hit, grab a Heavy Bowgun and go to town on them. If not, LBG lets you run. Not sure what MBG does.

I'm pretty sure it still lets you run. Not sure what advantages the light bowgun has over it.

Man I LOVED these games! Though I stopped playing mhf2 after the many failed attempts to kill that kezu-winged-legged-leech thing, It might have been my gear I may of had velociprey armor, But I was never even able to hurt it into a weakened state after hitting it 20 times, never even defeated the giant desert shark in mhf1, THIS GAME HARD!

But in a good way.

But I might get into it again after this thread.

And thank goodness I got the wii.

I might get it for the PS3, though I'm not sure, does this game last or is it a a 7 hour hack'n slash ala god of war and etc?

Hours and hours and hours.  Too many hours.  All of the hours, ever.

For all my complaining, I can't put this game down.

Also, Cephalos armor is awesome, finally something that looks Western.

It's not coming out for the PS3... Wii and PSP.

I have >100 hours saved on a single character on an expansion pack. So it's not a 7 hour thing.

Maybe 7 hours to hit your first wall...

Cephalos armour is the best in MH1 (Anti-heat! Screw you cool drinks!), until you get Rathalos armour...

Hahahahaha!

Not only did I get my hands on the bundle, due to a completely unrelated sale at Futureshop I got it for 10% off!
I didn't even realize this until I got home and looked at the receipt.
Now I just have to wait until after my last exam tomorrow to play it. :/ :/

Unless you have a backwards-compatible PS3 and are talking about MH1, you'll be out of luck. MH3 is Wii exclusive.

The armor set I used for most of the early-game in MH1 was this one:

Kut-Ku Mail
Kut-Ku Vambraces
Ioprey Tasset
Rathalos Greaves

Plus a bone helm for style.
It was one of the non-standard sets with armor skills. Attack up (small) and +20 HP at the cost of stuns lasting twice as long.
Also, by "early-game" I really mean most of the game, since by the time stuff really started to hit hard I was pretty good at dodging everything.

Got the last bundle at
my local gamestop, hahahaha.

Then realized I didn't get a Wiispeak.

Sorry to see that splitscreen is restricted to an arena, which pretty much kills any chance I had of getting my friend into this game.

Damn that Khezu, he whupped my ass a lot until I finally did the work for new armor. Was just about to fight a plesioth on Freedom Unite before Tri came along. Guess I have a short reprieve on that one :)
