D:
You didn't just insult MH1's controls.
You didn't.

Left stick controls movement, right stick controls attacks. Shoulder buttons control running/blocking/item menu/camera reset. Face buttons scrolled through items, let you dodge, use items, interact with things and opened chat. Clicking the sticks let you kick things in the face. That's for swords and shields (other melee are slightly different, ranged very different) and I forgot some stuff.

It's got a high learning curve but was one of the most functional and efficient control schemes ever once it clicked. There's no enemy lock-on either, which you'd appreciate if you played it.

MH3 has a few different control options. One is similar to MH1 but somewhat adulterated by PSP controls, and the other is based on the PSP I think (and lacks control-stick attacking, thus being only for weenies).

The camera is the problem.  It doesn't move at all unless you make it, which means stuff gets up right behind you because you don't have three hands.

Eh, I never used the manual camera turn unless I had to. Normally I'd just turn myself in the direction I wanted the camera to face for a split second and hit the camera center.

I like that you always have complete control over the camera, but I can see it bothering people. :/

3 hands? All you need is 2 thumbs and 3 fingers.  Or 1 thumb and 4 fingers... it really depends on how you do it...  You can even do it with 1 less finger.
This is for the PSP version anyways.

Anyway, the only thing I hate more than the camera is the short despawn time for corpses, meaning if you get attacked by a pack of monsters you'll be lucky to loot one of them, and HURR I STUNLOK YOU.  I seriously just died because there were four Bullfangos.  I got knocked down by one, as soon as I stood up the second hit me, rinse and repeat until I died with no way to stop them.

Also, I expect this will change, but this game has something I can't stand in games.

Professor Bill:  Well, we've got this boss monster, but it's just not challenging enough.
Professor Steve: Why don't we make it huge and awesome and give it lots of cool powers?
Professor Bill:  Great idea Steve, I'll get right to wo--
Professor Retard:  No wait, I have a better idea.  Let's give it eight or nine weak, irritating minions to harass and distract the player.
Professor Bill:  That sounds like it'll really piss Cthulhu off.  I'll get right to work on it.

Because I'm pretty sure the cover art features a huge awesome dragon, not five or six tiny irritating dragons.

How Chtulhu, how incompetent can you be? <_< The only time camera is bad is when you're against a wall and it flips out.

I'm not incompetent, I just like a camera that works with me instead of sitting there and sulking until I make it move.  I feel like I'm playing a PS1 game.

Or you can be competent and manage the camera.

Corpse despawn time is only really bad for weak stuff like 'prey and bugs. Actual wyverns stick around forever.

However, I concur on Bullfangos being the (endless re)spawn of satan.
Especially on egg hunts and powderstone.
Friggin' powderstone. I love that game but goddamn.

Can't roll out... ? Barrel roll?  Ditch dive?  Wielding a blocking weapon?
I've never had this problem you got, getting chain trampled.

Monster Hunter's camera is fine. The problem is on your end.

Mostly the part where you evidently suck. :I
