Sometimes the bugs are awesome enough to make the game hilarious.  ;)

True, true...

Slow? It's already at the third bug-fix release.

At his current rate, it'll take him about a month to fix them all, wildly ballparking it.  Pretty good, actually.  I'm just impatient. :-)

Actually, it would probably take a little long than a month to get through them all, but a month should be enough to address the most grievous ones(game breakers and crashing bugs).

on a sidenote, its not like those bugs are all gamebreaking. undead can be killed now, things made of stone or metal etc are still unkillable but wth, lock them into a cave or encase em in obsidian. Be creative :D

The only thing really going on my nerves, completely unreasonably, is vermin not disappearing.
Already addressed in the next version.

Oh noes... I like them staying there. I cremate them for usable ashes! :(

I'd like to see some improvements in the bug tracker system. It's hard to tell that the bug you discovered is a duplicate :(

Unfortunately, searching the DB is the only real way to find duplicates.  Since people describe things in different ways, it can be tricky to find all the possibilities.

Do you mean it's hard to search for existing reports, or it's hard to find reports you submitted that got marked as duplicates?

As a software developer, it's great to see a bugtracker chock full of bugs.

It means people are actually using the software!

Believe me, all software is buggy. It's a wonder anything actually works. It's a blessing to actually *know* about the bugs.

I am pretty sure he means it is difficult to find out of a given bug has already been reported.  It is probably a matter of not knowing how to use the search options effectively.  Personally, I am very happy with the search features available on the bug tracker.  If I don't find something close to what I am seeing in three or four searches then it probably isn't on there.

I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of mantis yet; it seems quite limited compared to something like Bugzilla. But maybe it's just what I'm used to.

Is it just me, or does reading through the bugtracker and seeing just how many bugs there are sadden you on the inside as much as it does me?
Not really. I think we were at ~1000 upon 3d release as well. At least i saw numbers like that in devlog, when toady was fixing bugs.
It will take some months to fix, but most game-breakers will be sorted out soon enough.

I actually like it; you can see what's going to be in the next release, which is cool.

Yeah I agree. It's not depressing to browse the bug tracker, it's REFRESHING! Before that we had a forum cluttered with 100 similar threads. Now we have a clean and nice way to report bugs and track their status without "suggestions" and "spamming". Awesome!

Having a bug tracker is neat, even if the software seems a bit buggy itself.

Personally, I'm concerned less about bugs and more about things that are harder to nail down and solve, like the combat/wound issues.

Actually, this thread is making me feel better.

I guess it's because I've never done software development, so your attitudes about it really are encouraging.
