Reveal2 for 31.03?
« on: April 14, 2010, 01:31:19 pm »

  Is there an updated code to copy/paste into the reveal2.ini to get it working with the new DF version?

Tweak too.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

Dear lord no.
31.03 is only two days old.
Beyond that, due to the new exploration system, that would break the game completely, not just the ability to place magma forges under certain circumstances as it used to.

Personally, I would be using reveal simply to scout out the underworld before doing anything, then ending task on DF and loading the map up pre-reveal to then proceed with my fort building.

Somehow, I got Reveal confused with Visual Fortress. I'd like that first. Assuming it's possible.

Yeah, doing reveal, full layers export, reload was my standard way of playing.
I'm not sure how good that would be now with over 100 layers though.

If you wan't a temporary replacement, which works with DF2010 and doesn't screw up magma buildings, give this a shot:

I've been putting together Tweak XML files for the last few releases; they're not really complete, but Tile Edit and Reveal both seem to work fine.

XML files for 0.31.01 through '.03

It seemed to work just fine with the 31.02 version. Was anything massive changed that would make it impossible in the .03 version?

No, but if you save the game after revealing the underground, it'll be broken.

Oh, I know that. I always just revealed the map to see aquifers and such, then ended the game process and restarted the game normally.

DFhack has its own reveal tool in the windows binaries that works just fine and is updated to work with 31.03

If you want to use Reveal2, put this data at the bottom of reveal2.ini:

Code: [Select]
; .31.01
[4BB45F99]
dwarf_fortress=0x00A5DD94
map_data=0x016AD718
map_x_count=0x016AD738
map_y_count=0x016AD73C
map_z_count=0x016AD740
map_data_designation_offset=0x29C

; .31.02
[4BBDF378]
dwarf_fortress=0x00A5DD94
map_data=0x016AD718
map_x_count=0x016AD738
map_y_count=0x016AD73C
map_z_count=0x016AD740
map_data_designation_offset=0x29C

; .31.03
[4BC3C470]
dwarf_fortress=0x00A5ED94
map_data=0x016AE760
map_x_count=0x016AE780
map_y_count=0x016AE784
map_z_count=0x016AE788
map_data_designation_offset=0x29C

Eventually I will get the automatic search working again.
