New graphics pack for the new underground beasties.

Hey, everyone.  I put together a quick and dirty graphics set, 16x16, for the new underground horrors Toady cooked up.  Where possible, I used the color tags for skin and eyes to stay accurate, and I did my best to imagine what Toady was getting at in the descriptions and body structures.  Some of the graphics (cave bear adult and child, cave dragon adult, the bottom half of the molemarians, the element men) are borrowed, so thanks to the original creators whose work shows up in the Mayday releases.

The zip contains nb.txt and newbeasts.bmp file.  Plop em both in raw/graphics.

By Armok's Beard! The formatting! I have delved to deep!

(Seriously though, nice work, and thanks. But you really should look into formatting the .txt file better. It's was just one unreadable mess to me, and my OCD kicked in.)

Nicely done! I must echo Mayday's question. A number of those fit the style of my graphics pack, is it alright if I use them, with credit?

Awesome tiles! I will include them in the next version with the Phoebus character set for the Genesis mod.

It isn't a formatting problem. Open the file in wordpad instead of notepad. ;)

I can't get this to work alongside existing graphic sets. I took the contents of the nb.txt file and added it to the end of an existing graphic set's text file, but all I get are garbled images where the tiles should be.

Am I missing something?

The page dimentions are borked.
Should be 6:8

you also need to change the [FILE:newbeasts.bmp] to [FILE:yourGFXfolder/newbeasts.bmp]

I'm pretty sure I got the folder right, but I'll check the dimensions. EDIT - That fixed it. Thanks.

Sorry about the formatting - I was giving Urist McModder a shot (big props), and that's the file formatting it spit out.  I got tired of hand-coding. :)

Thanks for the positive comments, everyone - it was a fun batch to do.  Now I have to play enough fortresses to actually SEE these things; I'm drowning in Elk Birds but have yet to see a Plump Helmet Man.

It's not really a big deal. If I hadn't looked inside on a whim, I probably wouldn't have even noticed. Fix the page dimensions, and this will be an awesome mod!

Edit: Also, I'd love to be the fourth person to ask to ste... borrow your graphics for my repack.

I swear, with the rate that we take other people's graphics, we'll be as inbred as european nobility.

Hmm, does this mean that I sto... borrowed a graphic pack with an incorrect PAGE_DIM?

Yes, you might've knocked up your cousin. It's okay, it happens all the time. I'm sure the baby will be fine. A third eye never hurt anyone, right?
