I know I should probably just be forceful and shut him down completely, but I can't seem to do it. Its aggravating, I know what I want to say but as soon as its actually time, I get all....wavery and anxious about it. I dont want to be rude because I hate to hurt his feelings, and yeah, I dont want to insult him too badly. He's got that weird ego thing where he's socially awkward but thinks really highly of himself, not unlike me, I guess, heh, and I confess to being a littne nervous about insulting his pride.
Mer. I'm not helping myself, I know.

Really.

I don't know if anyone else can help you now besides yourself.

It miiight help to write out what you want to say first and just read it to him. I dunno, that's worked in the past before for people I know.

Other than that, you must get courage on your own. God speed.

Pathos, I literally half-spat out/half choked on my tea when I read that. I really didn't see that coming and frankly preferred my life before I had. ;_;
I'm going to try and put the thought out of mind. Like, really really hard.

Hey, I spoiler-tagged it for a reason. =p

Pathos, you sick basterd. :D

I prefer "Glorious", thank you very much. With a capital G.

You know what makes this thread even funnier? Imagine the guy is reading it, giving her advice along with the rest of us.

Lesson 1 about men: they ALL do that. ALL the time. If a man is attracted to you, you have featured in one, AT THE VERY LEAST, of his, uh, indulged fantasies. It's a fact of life...may as well get used to it

And this is every bit as true of studly, hunky guys or sensitive, sweet committed guys that love you with their whole heart, as it is of creepy nerds. Oh, and even if you're married to them, they're still wanking while thinking about other women. In fact, MORE so if you're married to them. Just  be glad they aren't acting on it.

As great of a conversation as that would make, I'll instead add in my two cents.

+1 vote for being forceful about saying no.

Alright. You're probably right; at this point its kinda on me to deal with it.
Blar. Blarblarblarblar.

Thanks, everyone.
Except you, pathos, who simply scarred me. Deeply.
And now you, Jude, who both likes Rich Boy and is furthering my already-deep mistrust of men.
;)

Time to practice my dickishness. I guess I'll watch some Glenn Beck.

Oh yeah, and if you're friends with a man, you've...uh...featured. If you are more attractive than a 6 and you've met him, there's a significant chance you've featured. If you are hotter than an 8 then there's a 1% or so chance just for every dude that sees you sunbathing or even wearing skimpy clothes

Just saying, that's how the world is, may as well get used to it. Don't mistrust men over it! You wouldn't want them to tell you but it's a don't ask don't tell situation.

Edit: Glenn Beck is the opposite of a dick, if you get my drift.

Thanks Acanthus. Heh. I'll try it tomorrow, I think.

And Jude, there are some things I could have lived happily never knowing. Ever.
And I don't think I'll ever quite understand that numeric system people use. Like what constitutes a 6 opposed to a 5. Or what a 1 could possibly be. :o

Time to build back what little confidence I have. Conan will help. Yes yes.

If you want confidence, go into arena mode and tear several hundred dwarves a new one. Each.

Not everyone fantasizes about people they know or are attracted to.  I don't, it feels very violating.
