Ghoo-Ghul, the All-Seeing Ruler of the Internet, brother to the Lore-Lord Wi'kai Peyja. Humble yourself in His presence, and he will grant you limitless truths.

Mixed with innumerable lies.

Well, we did say "limitless".

The idea of using a fortress as a dungeon creator is actually a really good idea and I'm kind of annoyed with myself for not having thought it up already.

As for my own experiences with DF/D&D fusion, all I have to add is that I once wrote up the background for a Dwarf Cleric of mine in the style of a DF dorf's info page.

Sadly the game I made her for never really got off the ground.

I used my fortress as a site to explore and investigate the collapse of a dwarven settlement. Everyone seemed interested in the place although there were a few things to consider.

1. Apartment complexes make boring play. They will assume one room contains a widget.
2. Players get lost in clutter, ie, stockpiles. They will assume one box contains a widget.
3. Players do not respect staircases. One player took lethal damage and died when two of them were horseplaying with flare spells on a staircase. I told them it was a long freestanding staircase decending multiple floors with no handrails, and the idiot goes and rolls down some forty steps and careens off a corner.

I should probably have my head checked, because I find myself in complete agreement with Nikov.

I would definitely love to see a Dwarf Fortress  themed D&D game on the forums.Could be played by gametable perhaps.Maps and history and traps all could easily be taken from a selection of fortresses on the DFMA.

Wut? I posted a a couple threads around, to gauge interest for JUST this. And it seemed there wasn't any. If people are changing their minds, i would be more than glad to start a campaign.

This thread reminded me on a theory i had a while back. Essentially the Monster in the Dark (MiTD) is one of toadys forgotten beasts and oots itself a D&D / DF crossover.

I already mentioned it, but I want to re-assert how much I'd love to join in on this if it ever actually happened.

Been there, done that. Well, I did it in a large marble bathtub, and somehow I didn't kill myself, but same principle.

I'd play, although I don't know whether my schedule would permit such a thing. Monitoring with interest...
