"Okay Kib, I'll clean fish for you. My name's Iron, by the way."
If she needs fish cleaned now, I'll do that, otherwise I'll ask where I can find stones to haul.

"The fish are in our hideout, I can lead you there if you want."
"Stones? There is one right next to you. It's a bit small but it should long."

Yes, let's go to the hideout.

Aww screw that.
> Go back. Eavesdrop on the lady and my fellow peasant. Then go to the guards, tell them there's a naked molething eating our brethren!

Also, for roleplaying purposes, please tell me how much of the previous conversation I managed to overhear...

>keep walking down cave

You go forward trying not to disturb the naked mole thing.
Sneak check (>3): d6=6 -> success

The main tunnel continues straight on, but there is also a small path to the left. Which way do you take?

> Go back. Eavesdrop on the lady and my fellow peasant.

You go back to the great cavern and take the tunnel in the left. After a while you see two dwarves and listen.
"Yes, let's go to the hideout."
That's everything you hear. Then the two disappear into a small tunnel.

>_

Yes, let's go to the hideout.

You go through the small tunnel in the back. Soon a huge cavern with a lake, lots of pillars and even some underground plants opens in front of you.

(I guess you cannot do much more than talking or looking aroung right now...)

Wretched pun upon my name! I shall have revenge!

In the meantime, continue walking, unaware of the spy in pursuit.

"Wow, there's a lot down here, isn't there? Do the guards never come down this far?"

Internal dialogue: "Hmmm, blasted elven affiliators! But they do live way down in a cave, that's pretty dwarven... I'll have to see for myself if they're really as bad as the militia told me they are. If I give them up, I'll surely be promoted! But if their motives are true, I help them, and be a mole in the militia's intelligence agency... Hey cool, schist. Oh wait, pursuit. Silently now, they might hear you... Damn I'm kinda hungry. And I could really use a beer right now."

> Sneakily follow them!
You follow them, automatically passing the sneak check because they are talking.

In the meantime, continue walking, unaware of the spy in pursuit.

"Wow, there's a lot down here, isn't there? Do the guards never come down this far?"

"The guards sometimes come here, but not often. Our hideout is well hidden and the guards fear..."
You suddenly hear a shrill scream!
"Elk birds!"

>path to the left (I laugh in the face of danger! Then run away)

You take the left path. After a while you are standing in a vast cavern:

There is a strange birdlike thing in the distance. It screams and steps forwards (not in your direction).

That thing is hilarious and cute.

As for the razor-sharp beak and ravenous, hunger-maddened eyes:

Wave at the nice elkbeast, then toss my prepared cave fish near it.

Hopefully this will teach it that I am friendly and not full of delicious fish.

You equip your METAL and take a rock. Your hairthresh attack now has a damage roll of 1d6+2!

>Lie in wait so that I can examin this strange elky, birdy thing.

The elky thing looks big and dangerous. It is composed of elk bird flesh, elk bird bone, elk bird skin and elk bird feathers.
It moves forwards a few steps...

You try to feed the elk bird with your cave fish, but it just looks confused as the delicious meal lands in front of its feet.
Kib gets out a knife.
"Elk birds only eat plants, they kill just for fun..."
