Let's Play Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Great Revival
« on: April 11, 2010, 09:15:57 pm »

Yes, I am back to finish my reader-driven playthrough of the Pokemon rougelike, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team. This time around i have taken preventive measures against this LP's demise.

1. I'm not screen-shotting every single dialogue box of every single conversation. I don't know what the hell i was thinking. 80% of my 300+ screenshots were probably dialogue boxes.

2. I can save now, so i have access to wonder mail and therefore access to any item in the game whenever i want, so if we get into leveling trouble i can get us out with joy seeds (this games equivalent of rare candies).

Also a new addition to this Let's Play will be this is going to have a sister thread on the MS Paint Adventures forums where they can suggest stuff and make comments, however updates will be exclusively to this thread.

So now on to the reader driven part of this game. I'll need you guys to suggest what Pokemon our we will be and what our partner will be, Their names, our gender and the name of our rescue team. Here are the pokemon you can choose from.
THE GRASS TYPES
Bulbasaur
Chikorita
Treecko

THE WATER TYPES
Squirtle
Totodile
Mudkip
Psyduck

THE FIRE TYPES
Charmander
Cyndaquill
Torchic

THE NORMAL TYPES
Eevee
Meowth
Skitty

MISCELLANEOUS
Cubone
Machop
Pikachu

While we can be any one of these, there are some limitations on who our partner can be. Our partner can only be the grass fire or water pokemon (but can't be psyduck) and it can't be the same type as us. for example if we chose to be a Squirtle, we wouldn't be able to have a Totodile or Mudkip as our partner.
Also certain pokemon are gender exclusive. Meowth Machop and Cyndaquil can only be male. Skitty Eevee and Chikorita can only be female.
For anyone curious, last time we were a Cubone and our partner was a Totodile.

We are a Cubone named Urist and our partner is a Totodile named Raptor Jesus. It must be so.

We must be a male Mudkip named Urist and our partner a male Pikachu named Armok.

Because Pikachu = God.

Wouldn't Pikachu be closer to Thor or Zeus then the christian god?

Ok, see those miscellaneous and normal type section for starter pokemon? we can't have those as partner Pokemon. You also need to say who you want as our leader and who you want as our partner.

People, please. One of the two needs to be a Totodile named Raptor Jesus. I mean, how is that not the most awesome name ever?

Right now it's a tie between Totodile and Cubone as our leader. And there's really only one suggestion for our team name right now. Speaking of which i need to put a link to the MSPA thread in here.
