Climb Tree, get fruit/nuts.
(5) You climb the tree with care, making sure not to break any branches on the way up. The huge fir tree before you has plenty of squirrel nests, which you raid, for some squirrel meat and skeletons as well as plenty of nuts. From your view, you can see that the mountain is at least forty or fifty miles away.

Once fruits and nuts are gone. Burn it.
(3) Boy, you sure are a pyro. After taking out some flint and gathering some branches, you decided to light the fire on the ground before burning the tree down. Unfortunately, the night before was very dry and as such, the leaves around the fire started burning too. (4) Luckily, none of your clothes or extremities caught on fire. Your hair managed not to get burnt, either, but only narrowly. (2) The fire rages in the distance angrily, growing in size as you run away.

I cast my tie-breaking vote for the river plan.

Alright, but I wash my hands of his coming blood. He'll either drown or get eaten by carp.

No! We'll drown! Seek the mountains!
(4) You try to escape the lively forest fire brimming around you. The heat is massive. It's almost impossible for you to think. Even if there was no heat, the fire itself is rapidly spreading and deadly. (1) The heat gets to your head and you are now heat-exhausted (-1 to all rolls)

Jump into the nearest river to escape the fire!
(5-1) You're lucky. There's a river nearby, you've seen the plentiful ice that drips water off of the icecap of the mountain, and you follow the small streams and brooks 'til you've made your way all the way to the water. You jump into the refreshing water. (6-2) Despite not being a very good swimmer, you manage to keep your head above water. By now, your Horse leather Boots are XHorse leather BootsX. (4) Your heat exhaustion has seemed to fade.

You feel a slender touch push on your foot. Two.

...Wait, it feels like more than two.

Carps are good swimmers, and I'm not!
Get out of the water and run away, following the river and towards the mountain(s).
The right side of the river where there isn't a fire.
Unless the wind has spread the fire to the other side of the river too, making yellow-stone fire look like a campfire.

Quote from: General Consensus
SWIM OUT OF THERE
(2) You never were the best swimmer. The touches prod your feet harder now, and it's obvious that they are obviously tentacles of some sort. The tendrils latch around your legs and pull you underwater. (5) Your eyes adjust quickly and well to the murky river water. You can see several hundred tentacles latched firmly around your legs. (5) You fight viciously, slashing at the tentacles to get free. The enraged tentacles throw you far underwater where you black out.

You wake up a few minutes later in some sort of cave. The large river that you were in previously is gone, now a smaller stream flows through a deep gash in the stone. You can see a large spiral mechanism in the distance, and you see the marks on the walls where floodgates SHOULD have been turned on to prevent fish and other creatures from coming through. Some lazy people must have forgotten to pull the lever. In any case, you should probably come up with a plan.

You draw your -Maple Training Sword-. (3) You look around at your surroundings, but can't see well in the poor light. If you were full dwarf, you could probably see better, but your mixed blood only provides a slight vision increase.

You slap your forehead. (1) OW! Why would you do that, stupid? You are now Dazed. (3-1) You throw your sword into the wall and it falls into the river. (1) You chase after it, but the river moves too fast for your sword to be retrieved. You can see that the river widens a bit further down in the cave.
