Well, we've got ways around that!

What you'll need: Firefox with Adblock Plus. You could probably do this with other adblock suites on other browsers, but I don't know enough about any other suites to advise you on doing it.

Instructions are in red, and read from top-to-bottom. This should be self-evident to people without learning disabilities.

And that's it! Wasn't that simple? The whole site will now no longer have the silly map backgrounds. If you want to go one step further, and remove that brown background, just block ../dwarves/back* instead of ../dwarves/back_*. If you want to block all of the images, just block ../dwarves/*, though I don't recommend that.

The new page is nice thought i feels a bit "not completely done". The sudden and sharp transition between the beautiful blue green map and the brown text-box is a bit unsettling. Also that the header with the links to the sub-pages/the download-stuff and the dev-blog have different widths that is also a bit disturbing.

In general, that doesn't seem to work for me, have you tested it? ABP doesn't "notice" background images as normally blockable elements, is my experience; you have to go into the blockable elements list.

Also, your way of doing it would remove the brown, which I kinda like.

But that stylish theme looks good.
