I've considered writing some small fiction openers, and possibly sidebars, to augment the manual - mini stories, fictional book excerpts, that sort of thing, so lore intros are a definitely possibility.

got a quick question about this

"Raw Quecameda: A red stone containing strands of quecameda, found in igneous intrusive layers."

does this material have any usefullness other then decorative?

No, it's just for crafts and furniture and the like. Well, technically, it also trains the strand extractor skill, but I guess that wasn't your question.

just for my information

 Halls of Flame: Takes three obsidian statues and 3 obsidian boulders to build. Allows hallowing of flarestone, separating incense from frozenflame bushes, blessing steel, and meditating on fire.

if i get 3 obsidian statues how do I go about getting the boulders? I actually made a embarking point that has an active volcano in it and was just curious how to make that.

Boulders you get from just mining the obsidian.

I think there was a bug with obsidian not being on the list of economic stones (and thus you can't toggle it for general use unless you go into the raws to remove the lava tag), but I believe that if you have an obsidian layer, it should be usable. If that problem persists, I may be able to change some things, though.

my plan was combine water and lava and make obsidian so technically NO layer of obsidian (I think). though how is best to make the chamber? (large volcano in base,and a few ponds linked together,and making a 20x10 chamber)

Obsidian farming isn't really an area of expertise for me, so it might be better to ask someone else that. :)
