Ahh.  Probably the least dangerous reason for them to be doing this.

True, it's just the kind of shakedown where Kat will have some pretty heavy blackmail too.  Leading to a situation with Mutually Assured Destruction and no real enmity- assuming Kat is willing to do this out of compassion. 
If Kat refuses, and the issue is forced, then we're left with less friendly MAD.

What? Why would the answer be no? This is a girl who has presumably been studying a lot of physiology for this project. I'd assume if she's trying to make a "real" body, she'd include all functionality as a matter of course.

I don't remember Surma speaking like this before, though it's been a long time.  But the comments (which wipe ever day) pointed out that she's speaking kinda like a faerie... makes sense!
