Nah. I think it's within his grounds as a parent to be concerned about his daughter's grades. Particularly if she got this far by cheating most of the way.

Doesn't exactly justify any of his other behavior, guys. He's thoroughly abandoned whatever moral high ground he wanted to occupy, largely because his priorities don't seem to include 'moral' and he has the intellectual high ground. This comes off less as parental concern and more another way to exercise power over her.

Maybe.  Don't forget he maaaay have put her into a coma earlier for some nefarious reason.  I'm still betting on some kind of energy siphon.

Of course, I'm sure he thinks he's doing good in his own head.  It might be that he wants to "Cure" her of being a fire elemental, so the same thing doesn't happen to her if she ever has a child.
