We don't have proof that she sees Ankou as Ankou, and not something else, since we are seeing this chapter from the eyes of Annie or Mort. However, I do believe she sees Ankou and Ketrak etc as they are meant to be seen.
Remember that she saw Muut just like us, so...

I think the RotD glamour doesn't affect her because it's glamour, but the psychopomps don't use glamour.

But seriously, Annie just took a level in badass. When you have Nosferatu and a personification of Death both going "Uhh...well...that is...what I meant was..."

I was thinking for a long time that being a psychopomp was something you were born as, not something you got into. Also, psychopomps were arguing about jurisdictions early on. Annie has brought her mother into the ether (which sounds right, but uncaring on the part of the other 'pomps).
So what would her jurisdiction be? Burn victims? Humans (though Ankou seems like he is filling the role already)? Fire elementals (that's pretty restricted in scope)? Two of those don't make much sense if she wants to bring peace to Jeanne.

How did my last post even get submitted?  I started it, got distracted looking up geographic origins, and set it aside to deal with later. >_<

At any rate, the missing word was "geography", though miauw posits better options.  This is all as far as humans are concerned, though; Ketrak seems to be an all-sorts ferryman for insects in general, for instance.  Presumably the greater complexity of human souls (and thus power derived from them) lends itself to such specialization.
