Yup, cheapest way to solve it he could have chosen.

Now it will be redeemed if he reveals it at a later time and a whole room of charachters gets the dafuq expression Annie just had.

IDE/THEORY: Tom intends to explain jack shit. We're just going to follow Jones backwards in time and then the chapter ends without ever telling anything about who or what she is and where she comes from. And then we get a similar timeline for City Face.

Called it. 8)
Except for the City Face part, which is still in limbo.

Guess it turns out that whoever called for Mort Fun Time after the flashback wasn't too far off. At least not with this picture in the comment. :P

I'm pretty sure this entire arc was solely created to let Tom post this picture.

She's actually Annie's daughter.
That would make sense. At least as much sense as the rest of the story, anyway.

Considering the focus on elements and how characters represent them in this comic, I suspect the fact that she equates herself with stone was the reveal and will probably have some serious implications later when Kat inevitably goes insane and starts hunting people down to distill their essence for her school science project.

Of course what happens now when Jones (The uncuttable rock thing) goes up against coyote's tooth (the blade that can cut through anything)?

In all her time on the planet, she hasn't been harmed by anything at all, and living so long (and being so powerful) I would bet that some gods (or creatures as strong as gods) have probably tried to hurt/kill her before.

I don't think that Coyote's tooth is fundamentally different from other weapons that gods would employ. Sure its very powerful, and super super sharp, but I don't think it would be strong enough to hurt her.

Coyote doesn't seem to know what he is, so he might not actually know his own limits. Since he suspects he's the result of human imagination, I wouldn't be surprised if he can't do a thing to Jones, physically. He does have an edge over her though, as his magic seems to be able to affect her but she still seems very confident that, in the heart of his own forest, despite all of his power, he couldn't stop her if he wanted to. So that leads me to believe that he can't physically harm her and by extension neither can his tooth.
