IDE/THEORY: Tom intends to explain jack shit. We're just going to follow Jones backwards in time and then the chapter ends without ever telling anything about who or what she is and where she comes from. And then we get a similar timeline for City Face.

Or something, this chapter is just a tad too annoying in the way it is raising twice as much questions as it is answering, and I bet that he's chuckling like a madman as we squirm with curiosity, the desire to know slowly eating away our sanity.
