No, Annie's dad isn't dead. I'm quite sure.

It said in the end of the first year that he wouldn't see his dad for two more years. If I recall correctly.

Reynardine is Annies sort-of-father, through possessing her biological father to be able to have sex with Surma.
Or Tom is just throwing out those hooks to mess with us.

Nono. Because then Annie's father would be dead, which we are assured he is not. I can think of a few ways he might be dead, but I would rather not go there, because I don't think that's it.
Oyeah, forgot about the whole death-on-leaving thing. Don't remember much about the status of Dad either, though, so I'll have to take Ottofar/you guys on your words.
Hm.. Wasn't there a gunnerkrigg wikia or something? *goes checking*

addment: No, definitely not killed by Reynardine vamoosing, and probably not dead at all. Aaaw, too bad. :(

Maybe it was Hyland's father he possessed? Or maybe it doesn't matter, he was just some ordinary Court Shmoe?

The girl's dad is still alive.

When did Reynard start to care if she passed or failed anyways?

He probably sees himself as a paternal influence.
