He says in the last page that he could carry her.

But in retrospect Annie would have been a little hesitant to go anywhere with him if she knew he was superman.

Also the whole Reynard thing probably soured it a bit for her.

And he's creepy. I wouldn't want to be carried by him if I was in Annie's position.

Also, I half wondered how much 'etheric spider silk' would cost whilst I was rereading this chapter... XD

Annie: stoic emotionless Lois Lane to Jack's creepy, possibly possessed Superman.

Yeah, that probably wouldn't work.

So.. Let me just recap

Creepy Jack asked Annie to bring Rey with her to the island power station thing, where they proceeded to break and enter, killing one of the robot guards. He then activated the station, used a sealing device on Rey, and offered to get Annie out of there.

That Jack has a way with the ladies doesn't he?

The forum threads about Jack are hilarious: "HE'S A NICE GUY REALLY QQ"
"NO HE'S A DICK"
"NO HE LOVES ANNIE AND THEY SHOULD BE TOGETHER 4EVA"

Despite the fact it's fairly obvious that Tom's making him out to be a massive sociopathic bastard. I bet he disappears somewhere at the end of this story arc.
