And now it turns out the 'beacon' is just an ordinary twig that got switched with the real one at some point. Probably by Coyote. BAD END.

I expect (and much prefer) for it actually to work now, though.

Given the look on her face in the last panel, I'm thinking Eglamore teleported in in such a way that Ysengrin was dead before he knew it.  :-[

Can't wait for tomorrow's entry.

EDIT: Hmm....unsatisfying. Though it's hard to tell Ysengrin's state in that last panel. With the only sound being creaking and not snarling, he still might be frozen in a grievous wound. (Maybe Coyote showed up at the last second? He had to know what was happening, and he kinda has a thing for protecting Annie as well). I could see Coyote just flat out rooting Ysengrin and turning him into a tree permanently.

Also...since when the hell can Eglamore fly Superman-style?

From Tom's bit of text, I don't think Eggs actually attacked Ysengrin. Anyway, I have a nasty feeling that Coyote orchestrated the whole thing to poison Annie's relations with Ysengrin (or possibly cause an incident between the Court and the Forest and break the peace).

EDIT: Oh, you meant Coyote attacking Ysengrin. I doubt it, though.
