I tried this as well, and am really, really lost. Sadly, I am not good without colored text and refreshing room maps because I am dumb like that.

Seems like an intense experience and the players are very into the game, but I think I need something less MUDy to cut my teeth on, just tried HellMoo a few months ago, my first MUD, and did not like the theme that much.

try using the keyword command. For instance, if there are three vests, each with a different description, type   keyword vest   . You'll get

1.vest - description

2.vest - description

3.vest - description

It will also state where each vest is. Then use   get 2.vest   to get that vest.

I love this game. I love the staff. I just hate the players, and I don't just mean the characters I was very tempted to apply as a helper at one point, but never did. Stopped playing because it's the most addictive game ever, and uses up way too much time. Also, a lot of gameplay punishment leaks into OOC (like sandstorms and promotions).

BTW, guys, it's against rules to post your character's identities up to a year after they die. They're very strict about OOC communication with each other. It makes the game more fun to keep it all IC anyway.

What's your main skills? Obsidian mining and tree chopping is the standard way to make easy money. If you want a slower, but safer way, there's clay collecting, cotton picking, and dung sweeping, IIRC.

The Tuluk one? Just ask a templar. Tell them your parents were retarded and forgot to give you yours. Or if you're orphaned or something, it makes sense. It's a common noob mistake, they'll understand
