Does anyone know if I can get dorfs in Fortress mode to throw things? I want to know if I can make things like throwing axes and knives and whatnot.

The only way of doing so is to make a ranged weapon and use the thrown item as an ammo type. It works, but it's far from ideal.

Hmm, that's okay, I guess.

Is there any way to make say, a ball of fire or ice or poison or whatever to be fired from a weapon? Or, failing that, a generic "ammo" that gets fired from a generic "fired weapon" that does a specific type of damage, but hits like a wet noodle itself?

Not any more, unless you count creating the ammo out of a material with a fixed temp via reaction.

I wonder is there a way to recreate webbing in a adventure reaction so folks can toss a wet stream of web at foes and if the foe touches any of it becomes webbed?
While it is not difficult to add a web attack to any creature, there's no key command to fire web (or breathe fire, for that matter) for adventure mode.  The best you could do is go into adventure mode and then recruit a few companions from a race with web-shooting ability and then rely on them to fire web.
I was going for recreation. A alternative to the function seeing how one could recreate fire balls by making a material that ignite at any temperature add it to the raws craft and throw. I was wondering about the other can't be access functions.  So far all I got was a nonworking stun goop that does not paralyze folks or trail.

Ok I was capible of modding it so I can play as a batman(and every cavern civ) but my guy is completely useless, no skills, no armor, no clothes, and a copper spear. How can I mod it so that at the very very least these guys start with basic armor?

Edit: Another idea just popped into my head. If I modded it so Slade was minable does the game already allow you to make weapons/armor out of it? If so what skills does it use to make better slade stuff? As I'm pretty sure it's a rock not a metal. If you cannot make stuff out of slade with it being minable how could I edit the creation of slade stuff into my Smelter or something similer?

slade things are even better than adamantine (heresy, i know) when u mod it in as a workable metal/ore

That I'm aware of thanks to your Slade Collossus, but I'm asking how to mod them in becouse I am well and truely lost.

Edit:Another question I thought of in the adventure mode forum, how can I mod in more starting points for an Adventurer?

Newbie modding question - when I add a new weapon, how do I make a skill associated with that weapon? I want to be able to allocate it.

You unfortunately, as far as I am aware, cannot make skills. They are hardcoded.

Perhaps he can assign the weapon to a skill that already exists? if not it should get better through Misc Weapon User.
