I hope you're all having a fine day. The Problem Above? A Body Detail Plan that wasn't in a b_detail_plan*.txt file. Just the format of the file name was enough to break tissues here and there. Too bad it couldn't tell me "Can't Find the Body Detail Plan".

Is it possible for a creature to have more then one natural ranged attack?

And if so, will each seperate ranged attack have a different "cooldown"?

IE, if I slap five or six ranged attacks on a creature will it just sit there and unload on anything that comes in range?

yes and no. It'd just pick one randomly, much like how a dragon randomly alternate between breathing fire and meleeing.

there's a vanilla example, the cavern thingman civs, they're all only one entity, but there are antman civs, cave swallowman civs, etc.

Ah of course. So much for making a simply multi-race civ. I suppose it's still possible through the use of castes but those are a lot harder to work with for what I have in mind.

I'm not trying to control more than one species, but rather make a hostile civilization that consist of numerous creatures. It can techniacly still be done through use of the caste system, but it will be a lot more confusing.

Trying to be helpful instead of just freaking out. Ahem

Let's see... [Indiv_Controllable]... Adventure Mode only? What else... You have [OUTDOOR_WOOD] [OUTDOOR_FARMING] twice. I suspect the siege lines are fine... as for the trade... I just plop this:

on everyone. My two civs show up in whichever season I have them set at the time (I've used Summer and I think I use Winter now). Not sure how helpful this was, but it's worked for me every time. Not sure what if anything is defaulted for POPULATION and PRODUCTION if not declared.

And of course they could be murdering the countryside and just might not arrive. At least they shouldn't be like Elves have been for me. Two seasons late because they might as well have brought every beast they could fill with them. 8 to 10 *loaded* animals slowly trudging over the world map.

That's it for my sensible suggestions.

I remembered the Active Season tag...

I am having trouble duplicating the problem.  One of my custom civilizations usually has a "No Trade" tag next to it, but yours is coming up just like anything else.  I have gen'd 4 worlds so far with the same results.

The only line I have changed is [CREATURE:KASIYU] to a renamed human creature [CREATURE:HUMAN_CLONE].

In other news, I noticed that your entity file is missing a [DIGGER] item and [USE_MISC_PROCESSED_WOOD_PRODUCTS], which is required for fuel.

Is it possible for a creature to have more then one natural ranged attack?

And if so, will each seperate ranged attack have a different "cooldown"?

IE, if I slap five or six ranged attacks on a creature will it just sit there and unload on anything that comes in range?
yes and no. It'd just pick one randomly, much like how a dragon randomly alternate between breathing fire and meleeing.

I see, thanks. It'll have to do I suppose.

Hi. Due to my fort's abundance of lead and nothing worth making sharp objects with, I am trying to make lead a valid weapon trap component (spiked balls). I added [ITEMS_WEAPON] to the LEAD entry in inorganic_metal but that didn't seem to do anything. What do I do next?

By the way is there a FAQ for basic modding like this? Seems like the kind of question that would get asked every few pages.

Just tested it quickly, looks as though it needs a regen to trigger the hardcoded forge reactions.

You can always hijack and rename an existing reaction.

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Is there any functionality that I'm missing to create submenus on the custom keys for workshops?

I've moved all plant products (drinks, milled products, etc.) to individual reactions so I can order specific items, but having submenus would help tremendously (such as putting all the flour or dye under their own menus instead of one big list.  I know some of the hard-coded workshops have them, but that's probably because the submenus are hard-coded.
