I don't think file type should matter, as long as it's one of the common ones that web browsers support.

Edit: For some reason, imageshack keeps convertin my png to jpg, why is that? The previous file was OK. Any other decent imagehosting?

And since '06, I've been using Photobucket for all my image hosting needs. Haven't really been let down yet.
