You sneak up behind Jetsquirrel and [3] knock him ineffectively over the head. He turns round and looks at you funny, so you just throw your rope at him and run off.

Continuing North as well, sticking close to Frelock for protection from crazed River-Bandits.

[5] You double back in order to wait for your colleagues, in as that you may use them as human shields should bandits appear.

Run north away from Jet squirrel, following the others.

[3] You start walking north. The river is, in fact, surrounded by shallows which are pretty much just reeds.

TRAVEL:
[5] Everyone (apart from Batista and Jetsquirrel) meet up and head north together. The desert is utterly deserted (badum tisch) and the going is good. The sun is somewhat lower in the sky now, making the heat almost bearable, at least this close to the river.

The river Ul, you presume, lies before you. Behind you the desert grows quickly rocky, becoming a maze of valleys. Ahead of you is a large blue obelisk, surrounded by a brownish awning and the smouldering ruins of several tents.
A trail of crude symbols leads from here to the Mysterious Carvings.
