The resolution that matters is the one under the [GRAPHICS tag
This is what it should look like (yes, should be set as 0)

[GRAPHICS_FONT:mayday.png]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENX:0]

now when I asked about your resolution, I meant the resolution of your screen (in windows). Sounds like it is after all large enough and it's using 16px tiles- which means the font is exactly the same size as on these forums.
BUT! Try playing with truetype ON and zooming in- scroll the mousewheel down. If your screen resolution is larger than 1280, that will enlarge the tiles (unfortunately blurring them in the process) and the font as well (thankfully the font will stay crisp).

Alrighty, just transferred my old save file to the new mayday DF, took care of the raws, and try running old save, and get this error:

Sorry but due to a bugfix by Toady you can't transfer old saves to 34.04 and newer.

I think keeping the old body raws can let you play without that error though? So just copy the old file into your new folder and see if it works.

Graphics will read military jobs (like "hammerdwarf"), and you have things like militia captain, but you don't get things like generals in-game, yet. 

For undead, you only get one "animated" token.  You only need one zombie, no skeletons, and the game doesn't check for weapon skills, I don't believe.

It does- foe ghosts at least! I had a complete skeleton set so I used it for ghosts for now. Not sure about animated though.
Anyway- what I meant is: are the icons clear enough, not if the game can see them.

For my two cents it looks good. Kinda hard for me to tell hammer users from axe users but thats more nit-picky than anything.
