Author Topic: [0.34.10] Mayday's Graphics Set - Even in death I still serve  (Read 372042 times)

It's very simple.

Step 1: Download and install GIMP
Step 2: Use it to Ctrl + Open the current PNG tileset image.
Step 3: Ctrl + Copy the tiles from the old tileset in Paint.
Step 4: Right click the GIMP image and create another layer.
Step 5: Find the little dropdown in the bottom-right of the image window that says "100%" and choose something like "400%".
Step 6: Ctrl + Vaste (?!) the image, and click and drag it around until it's positioned just right.
Step 7: Go to the menu bar and navigate to Layer and choose Merge layers. Confirm it.
Step 8: Choose the tool that looks like a hand pointing to three colored squares from the toolbar and make sure it's set to select similar colors with the number for tolerance set to 0 and the Feather edges and Anti-alias checkboxes both must be Unckecked.
Step 9: Click the magenta background on the part you pasted.
Step 10: Press Delete on the keyboard.
Step 11: Save
step 12: Fire up the old dwarfort
Step 13: ???
Step 14: Profit!

Lokomotivet: paint won't do. You need something more advanced... I'm sure GIMP can do it- it's free so you can get it. But sorry, I have no idea how to use it so you'll need to use your google-fu.

I actually made it work with a black background, believe it or not.

It's very simple.

Anybody know what files besides the graphics files and the init I have to move over to the .07 version to get Maydays graphics pack on there?

You can use winmerge to find out what files changed between 06 and mayday's 06.

I don't have the vanilla .06 and I'm not sure if Toady still caches earlier downloads or not. It won't be real long before Mayday gets the new one out.

This might have been asked before, but I can't figure out how to change the tileset to one that is less squashed horisontally, ideally, I'd like it to be 1280x800.
If I set that as a resolution I just get a big black area and it is still very slim on the height.

By changing the init.txt file I figured it was this row that I needed to change, how to I know what I should change it to though?

Gene: if you're getting squashy graphics, try entering your resolution in graphics_windowed and graphics_fullscreen

Just letting you know that there is a wierd bug with .07 atm where k+enter crashes the game. We have to wait for Toady to wake up before he can get started on the hotfix :P

Oject raws and colours, I think that's all. Remember NOT to copy init.txt it always has to be manually edited (just in case)...
