Any chance that we'll ever be able to use this under the 1280 resolution? I can't run Full screen, and Windowed isn't centered in the window.

Yes. As soon as Toady disables the requirement to display at least 80 tile horizontally.

Yes. As soon as Toady disables the requirement to display at least 80 tile horizontally.

Is that coming in .05? (Please say yes.)

Yes.

(no, not really. I'm not even sure if it's coming this year).

Regardless, I've come bearing good news: DFG works for me in .05! I've got no problems, except a small drop in my FPS, but that's probably just from the graphics.

I never tried 04 so I'm not sure I can be an expert on what the bug was, but what I can tell you is I had a 31_03 save with Mayday's graphics.  I downloaded .05 today, copied my save folder over to the new version.  I copied mayday.bmp to the new /data/art directory and I put

[GRAPHICS:YES]
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDX:1808]
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDY:1088]
[GRAPHICS_FONT:mayday.bmp]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENX:1680]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENY:1050]
[GRAPHICS_FULLFONT:mayday.bmp]
[GRAPHICS_BLACK_SPACE:YES]

in my data/init/init.txt file and I'm running .05 with MAYDAY graphics just fine now.   Looks pretty and it's much faster than .03 was.

I've only played around 15 minutes or so so I don't claim to have exhaustively tested it, but so far so good.

That's pretty much the thing to do, Srial. I'll be doing an "official" update tomorrow anyway.

Hrm.  I did as described above but now all my rock layers are replaced by animals.

Slate = mouse
Microcline = spider
Sand = snake
Gold = frog
Diorite = dragonfly

and so on.  Any ideas as to what I did wrong?  Or is that how they're supposed to look?  They didn't look like that in previous Mayday versions.

I am going to start fresh and see if this patch works with .05

I was thinking more along the lines of this legendary champion, all clad in dented and dinged up steel plate, his blood-drenched axe slung over his back, a notch in the handle for every enemy that saw the swing of that blade as the last sight they ever saw, a battered shield strapped over his arm... and a fluffy, pink stuffed hippo hidden discretely in his breastplate.

If someone gets a working package with .05 please upload somewhere. I'll not quite up to par with dealing with a merge after a LONG week at work.

You nubs, getting the gfx to work is as easy as copypasta.

Copy the following from mikes DFG pack to the .05 folder.
\raw
\data\art

ALSO for any save games not saved with a version using gfx copy the same \raw folder from DFG as before to:
\save\region#\raw

Then update the settings in the init.txt to:
[GRAPHICS:YES]
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDX:1280]
[GRAPHICS_WINDOWEDY:800]
[GRAPHICS_FONT:mayday.bmp]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENX:1680]
[GRAPHICS_FULLSCREENY:1050]
[GRAPHICS_FULLFONT:mayday.bmp]
[GRAPHICS_BLACK_SPACE:YES]

Then update your personal settings as necessary.

That worked great, just change that one typo 1208 to 1280 or it kills generating a world... guess you can skip step 7 in his installation steps cause i think thats what botched me up and turned me into an elf.
