Miner pathing problem and aquifers. Any workarounds?
« on: April 09, 2010, 10:01:52 am »

So I'm trying to punch through the aquifer, but my miners refuse to dig the required channels. They have all of the channel spots pretty much set, but both of them refuse to do anything but stand right next to channels they've already done, and they continually return there after they're done with other tasks, and they refuse to channel out the last bit of it to drop the dirt to punch through.

Any suggestions?

This is an Alder Omelette. All craftsdwarfship is of highest quality. It is encircled with bands of cheese. It menaces with spikes of bacon, ham, and peppers. On the object is an image of dwarves in egg white. The dwarves are eating.

I often try building a small, simple piece of furniture there. If it says I don't have a path to the furniture it's a pathfinding problem that can almost always be fixed by a save and reload.

Thanks a lot, Erk, saving and reloading worked. All I needed to know. :) I tried bridging over stuff and whatnot, but it was getting to be a pita.

Save, quit, restart DF, continue.... rinse and repeat. It's a time consuming workaround.
