Dwarf Fortress now supported by Xfire!
« on: April 09, 2010, 06:20:36 am »

In the latest Xfire game support update, Dwarf Fortress is now supported by Xfire. Just point Xfire to where the Dwarf Fortress.exe is and it's done. You can even take videos and screenshots  ;D

When xfire changes my status from online to dwarf fortress the game crashes. Anyone knows how to fix that? I guess i won't get lots of hours of playing like this.

Turning off the xfire in game option helped, if someon has that problem.

Try starting Dwarf Fortress before Xfire?

!*$&! yes! Sweeet =)

The problem is xfire trying to activate its ingame system and DF doesnt like it.

If that's the case go to options -> games
then select Dwarf Fortress from the list. At the bottom you can disable the in-game features like messaging, screenshots, etc... but it will still track how many hours you've played and show people that you are playing.

EDIT: Oh, it was already mentioned.

I located the crash problem (for me at least). Xfire won't work in-game if you're using the Baughn's Dwarf Fortress Accelerator. It worked after I removed opengl32.dll

I disabled Xfire In-game in the game settings...in Xfire, GLAccelerator or however you call it works fine, and it shouldn't crash then.

I know disabling xfire chat, screenshots, and such allows xfire to detect it without crashing; I was saying removing the accelerator allowed me to run it with in-game xfire enabled in case that was anyone's goal.
