[DF 2010] The liaison should come early the first year

In order to stop the obvious "realism" issues with the first caravan arriving in winter without knowing what's going on and the first immigrants coming in the first summer, we should have the liaison come early in the first year. Maybe late spring or early summer.

- The liaison would report that we arrived at our destination and are still alive after a couple months. (Immigrants decide to come late summer)
- The liaison would report the wealth generated. (Amount of immigrants that come)
- We could affect the content and prices of the first caravan. (Make sure we get what we need the first visit and know what's valuable to sell)

I expect the first visit would require some guards for protection since there isn't a caravan with him.

AFAIK from our own colonial history, it was common for ships and caravans to arrive just before winter.  Indeed this is something you should be counting on to for needed supplies to last the winter.  The pioneers should have left with enough supplies and knowhow to carry them through the spring, summer, and autumn just fine as well as begin producing useful goods to show that their parent nation/company will get something in return for supporting them. Furthermore, it would make no sense to send a single (presumably important) man out into the wilderness just to check on the seven dwarves.  If it's presumed they may not have survived it makes even less sense to send another guy with fewer provisions.

Yeah, if the main argument is realism, the way it is now is more realistic. A caravan is more likely to survive in a dangerous area than a party of 7 or worse a single liason. In a safe area, it would be expected that the party would still be alive and in need of supplies. It MIGHT make sense to talk to the liason before leaving, to indicate what supplies you will be expecting to want by the end of the first year. This would add another screen to the "plan carefully" stream, and allow you to indicate all the things you described (except wealth generated, obviously, but realistically we shouldn't be able to generate much wealth in that amount of time anyway).
