So, I saw earlier that someone was having trouble with a salt demon or some such and that it was invincible.  What are peoples experiences with this?  I just had a salt blob show up (forgotten beast) and am wondering if it can die or not.  I am hoping so...

I smashed a few forgotten beasts made of salt; just make sure you don't puncture a lung on one that has a breath attack or you'll quickly find it puffing out breath every few seconds in a sphere around itself.

I wonder if salt creatures dissolve...?

You may also want to put a spoiler on the title, some people don't want to have forgotten beasts spoiled before they meet one themselves.

Well I spoliered it, but anyhow, I do not believe that this particular one is killable.  Right off the bat my dwarves took off 2 of its three body parts (stinger and tail), but then got slaughtered in a prolonged battle in which there can be now victory 0.o

I have a mud blob which is being attacked by 30+ dwarves, 10+ of which have various weapons, but it doesn't die. Basically, every blow of one of my dwarves "rips away the rest of the tissue", but it still doesn't die.
