This reminds me of the time I made hearts embedded so I could tear them out Indiana Jones style. My multi legendary adventurer was plundering an elf glade and a child walked up behind me and tore my heart out.

Can you still do this?

My attempts at eyeball removal have failed so far, but it seems you can yank creatures' teeth out by grabbing them and pinching. I have a feeling the old way of gouging has been altered from it's 40d state.

For what it's worth, you can tear off almost anything you can grab, now, just by pinching.
Like, noses.
Or heads.

Should we ask Toady to have one of these as an optional setting in worldgen? I'd love to read the legends to find the story of "The Child Urist McDickpunch": Urist McDickpunch was born in 600 in the Cloisters of Cheer. The Cloisters of Cheer were wiped out by demons in the year 602. Urist McDickpunch was found by adventurers in the year 603. He was surrounded by dead and dying demons. Upon seeing the adventurers, he smiled and said "Diiiiick", and then he murdered them all after he had mistaken cacame for an ordinary elf

Fixed the post from a while ago

But honestly, forgotten beasts can take ages to be killed and this one got punched in half by a child?

Imagine what was going through its head when it saw the child:
"Hmm, what should I do with this one? Eat it? Tear it limb from limb? Crush it?"

Yikes, the Orcs have a nasty language.  Traditional foreplay would be right out for them; how would they ever "say my name" for one another?  No wonder Ocrs are always so bloodthirsty and violent, they're getting sub-par action.

I had a group of wrestlers take on a pack of thieving monkeys. Four of them ganged one monkey, promptly proceeding to gouge it's eyes out. Another took on a fleeing monkey single handed. He charged it, knocking it into a pond I had recently expanded to get a corpse out of. The monkey passed out from the fall. The wrestler then followed the monkey in and choked it (about 30 times) till it died. I was seeing in my mind the dwarf with a sleeper hold on the monkey, then finally snapping it's neck and bellowing at the sky. Mind you, this was also in 3 deep water, thus making it even cooler.

Just thought I'd share.

I also had a forgotten beast that I'm fairly sure died mostly from it's own breath attack.

But Roadhouse is a true masterpiece. Seriously.

Seriously, there could not have been a more appropriate end to the saga of Boatmurdered than a gigantic flaming apocalypse for no apparent reason. -- StarkRavingMad

Captain Ironblood has been reborn.  He has returned to us in our darkest hour to drive back the beasts from the deep!

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

a mastercrafted Adamantium sarcophagus has been constructed in his honor. If only there was a way to select what to encrust I'd stud it with Star Ruby as well.

Helpful tip: In the old version at least, you could "select" what to encrust with stockpile fiddling and some micromanagement. Basically, you make a stockpile in front of the workshop that only accepts the goods you want to encrust. When the jeweler starts the job, he should pick up the nearest item. If he starts from the workshop, that should be whatever is in the custom stockpile. You just need to monitor the situation to interrupt the job in case the jeweler doesn't behave as expected due to going for a drink or something. :)

Sadly it doesn't matter anymore, I deleted the world by accident when updating to the new version. I'm instead embarking on a dwarf eugenics program where I will isolate good prospective dwarves in their own burrows until they marry and breed a race of super dwarves. Failures and those coming to my fortress with weak stats will be culled by giving them an axe and sending them into the deep roads to fight until they succumb to exhaustion beneath the claws of monsters.

Those with weak stats but useful skills will be made slave labor, sent to live in squalor they will serve the master race by farming, creating tools and weapons and in the event of a siege they will form the first line of defence.

I will have another Urist Dickpunch!
