Dwarvemon 2010 v.6 - 101 Pokemon!
« on: April 07, 2010, 06:34:12 pm »

Another update. Up to Electrode now.

Metal pokemon are now invincible, which is definitely a problem. Taking suggestions on this one.

This was originally created for 40d by doomshifter (thread), so I'm copying a lot of this from that. Many thanks go to her.
The descriptions come from pokemon yellow.

All questions and suggestions eagerly wanted

Use the [DRAGONFIREBREATH] for the fire breathing thingies. Apparently, creature breaths don't seem to come out hot or anything. Which is annoying.

But, I shall download this, just to check =3 I'm yet to wrap my head around the new way that everything works, but I'll try to be of assistance.

EDIT:
Upon opening, I notice you have a file 'to add to materials'. You can just change the said file yourself to include this, and then players will over-write things. That's what I did for some of mine.

Also, you might want a readme.txt file with change logs, URL of this thread and the download link and credits (to yourself, of course).

I'm very reluctant to use dragonfirebreath, as it may be a bit overpowered and destructive. Maybe for charizard. I just used [FIREBREATH] for charizard and charmeleon, though even that seems a bit much.

I maybe will just include material_template_default.txt, though I'll also include a file detailing changes to it, just in case people have their own. I don't like editing the default files.

Material breaths are not broken, heat transfer in general is.  If you chance the spec_heat of some materials in the raws it works fine.

Does anyone know why my butterfree keeps dying every time it breathes stun spores?

Are you using UNDIRECTED_DUST?

I've tried undirected gas and vapor, and trailing gas/vapor flow. It keeps melting and bleeding.

It may not be immune to its own syndrome, or the material may have a FIXED_TEMP higher than the butterfree can stand.

I got it. Looks like I needed to define ignite points and boiling points and all that.

Just checked my pms. Made some changes.

1. They now have genders.
2. Made blastoise quite a lot bigger, in theory it should be more powerful now.
3. Replaced the accented e in wartortle's description. Sorry, it was copypasted.
4. Changed vine 1 to first vine, and so on.
5. Made Venusaur bigger to make it more powerful.
6. Working on charmander. Anyone know how to make it immune to heat? Every time I get it to breathe hot gas it melts itself.

Will upload as soon as I fix weedle.

I don't know what I've done but charmander now spontaneously melts as soon as it spawns.

Fixed charmander. Discovered the problem with weedle is that it's too small for the stinger to actually do anything at all.

15 done, 136 more to go. Hurrah. I think rock types will be fun. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas for how to do electric attacks?

I happened upon a 1 part body in the bodies file which was an upper body, a lower body, and a head. Essentially just a head. This means diglett and voltorb and all the rest will finally work!

You Dwarvemon people need to make pokemon a single creature and define all the pokemon in castes.

Always an option. However, they'd just appear as 'pokemon' in some places and they'd all be in the same biome.

No they wouldn't. They'd only appear as 'pokemon' in arena, and biome is caste-specific.
