Has anyone tried increasing the spec_heat of the items their producing for breath weapons?  A high temp, high specific heat material should have more energy than a high temp, low specific heat material.  I don't remember if I've seen anything in the raws to represent thermal conductivity/transmittance (ability for an object to absorb or transmit heat energy), so if there isn't one, I would expect spec_heat to fill in roughly the same role.

The trailing breath certainly isn't as long ranged or good as the normal dragonbreath, and it has the unfortunate random effect size thing that can range from hitting only itself to hitting 20 tiles away.

And while having a hot breath attack seems to work out nicely (ever have a creature breathe puffs of boiling steel?) cold breath seems completely nonfunctional.  Hell, for awhile my white dragon's breath looked and acted like the damn thing just had gas.

It's fairly easy to recreate something like acid or poison breath though using the system.  And those most certainly are not useless.  My black dragon breathes acid on a human and he's a bloody blistered mess in a turn, a bloody corpse in 2.

Try fiddling around with dust-type attacks.  It's hilarious stuff, since the dust acts like cave-in dust.  I.E., it tosses people around and stuns them.

I've been working on developing an explosive critter who erupts in an UNDIRECTED_DUST attack when someone gets too close.  The effect is truly delightful (well, it would be, if I could just get the sodding material to react to temperature properly).

And you can see the temperature oddities there, too.  Most of the released cloud is solid/liquid "gelatinous cube ooze", while there's also mention of "boiling gelatinous cube ooze".

Yeah it's odd but it works .

But it's odd because I used some weird temp. values to achieve this effect. I am pretty sure it can be fixed.

Greiger: it was one of the mediocre tests which I did to "see what happens when I randomly change values".
I will need a freezing attack for blue dragons for Genesis mod soon, so I will share my results.

It's mostly working, only liquid_glob is shooting the material in its solid form. Anyone know how I can make it liquid?
