Create a Gladiator- Choose a name. Choose one of the following: Goblin, Kobold, Elf Choose 3 pieces of wood equipment to start with, armor or weapons.
Choose a manager (Each provides hidden bonuses you will see later): Edem - Keen to curry the favour of the crowds, no matter the cost. Kikrost - Interested in extracting the best return on investment from her gladiators. Dumat - Devoted to the arena, known for pushing his gladiators to new heights. Atis - Caring and thoughtful, Atis cares for his gladiators deeply and will do his best to insure their health and survival.
Finally, you each start with three points of favour. Favour can be spent on better equipment, improved stats, free time to enjoy pleasures of the slave city, and eventually freedom.
Right now you can exchange one favour for: Training - Raises skill level by one in four separate skills of your choice. Equipment - Get an additional piece of equipment, or increase the quality of one of your pieces. Quality levels go: Wood/Copper/Bronze/Steel Friends - Insuring another player is on your team in an upcoming Arena event. Meddle - Increase or lower the difficulty of the next event (and the accompanying favour reward). Choice - Determine which of the events this round you will participate in. Care - Improve the quality of your medical care. Leave - Sit out the next round of arena events, enjoying the pleasures of the city instead. May present special opportunities. Sponsor - Grant 1 to 3 favour to another character. Bank - Commit 1 favour to the bank. This is given to your next character as an "inheritance".
How the game works: Once the slots have filled, we will begin. The Arena is broken into Rounds which have several events.
A fighter will normally participate in one event per round, though occasionally he may participate in more. Surviving an event generally gets you one favour. Landing the killing blow against a notable enemy will grant you another favour. Reaching certain "number of kills" milestones will also give you a point of favour. Finally, doing something terribly impressive and dramatic (in the opinion of the watching dwarves, by which I mean me) will grant you a point of favour.
There are 8 slots to fill at any given time - when a player is eliminated, another slot will open at the end of the round. The first to claim the spot, AFTER the post is made announcing it's availability, gets the place and may create a new gladiator. No player may fill more than one slot, and they may not claim a spot if they died in the previous round.
I will announce rounds, and give a brief overview of each round, at least 24 hours in advance to give people time to spend favour.
So, anyone interested? First eight applicants with required info will be accepted!
Format for applicants: Name: _______________________ Race: ________________________ Starting Equipment: ____________ Manager:_____________________ Skills:________________________ Remaining Favour: ___ Also, anyone interested in one of the following SUPPORT roles, as a Dwarf, please let me know via Private Message!
