No, you've got it all wrong. Gimmli threatened to open the magma pumps at treebeard if legolas ate them, and releasing the Spirits-o-FUN was the doomsday device. The error was that they depicted the Hidden Chamber of Fun as only holding one spirit. And the fact that it was killed by a human. Seriously, I mean... Gandalf didn't even have an axe, and he was Adequate Swordsman at most. Besides, the [IGNITE_POINT] on the clothes, staff, and skin would have rendered him a !!Grey Wizard!! long before he could fall down the chasm, much less climb the endless staircase. And chasm creatures (Skeletal Giant Cave Swallows, anyone?) would have finished off the fellowship post-haste.

Argh...
Okay, time to set things straight. I don't see Catoblepas anywhere, so it's MY job to get all anal about LOTR lore.
Gandalf... is not a human. He is a supernatural being known as a maiar. Basically a lesser god, just like Sauron, Saruman, and the Balrogs.

I dunno... Gandalf's specialization was always with fire.  I imagine that he'd at least have FIRE_IMMUNE or something... :D

There is a somewhat significant difference between being [FIRE_IMMUNE] and being [FIRE_OBLIVIOUS].

True, we all know dwarves have the [FIRE_OBLIVIOUS] tag, and defiantly not the [FIRE_IMMUNE] one.  Of course, Dakoth's right when finding the clothes being intact rather odd.

Who says the clothes were intact? Perhaps he was Gandalf the Grey because of all the soot. Once he got dunked into the pool at the bottom of the chasm, he got cleaner, voilá Gandalf the White.

But then how would you explain his being Gandalf the Grey at the top of the mountain in his fight?

You didn't say marble, obsidian, or gabbo?

Not even mica, microcline, or even pitchblende?

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Almost did. As soon as I caught what I said, I stilled my tongue.

Though I've frequently made mistakes like that.

What? everyone knows that Japanese builders preferred pitchblende for it's unique glowing properties.
