Meh. I would've cannonballed from the air into him, but now I know how to make barbed hooks. :P

Figure out what happened and chase down Art.

The slave was safe. Or at least safer. Out of the Link's hideaway, and in the hands of the expedition. As is the other prisoner we found in there. I don't know who he is, but I released him as well. Anyway, I'd do well to be out of the city before the Link discovers his prizes missing.

My first stop out of the city was at the empath's quarters. I hastily packed my belongings, meager though they were. My fishing equipment, my satchel with my book of my studies, My clothes, a few other miscellaneous tools, and the money I made hawking off relics. I quickly left there, after telling them the results of the break-in, along with a warning to be on their guard. Next, I stopped at a food vendor, and used up most of my money to buy food and herbs for the road and a fresh waterskin. To be on the safe side, I used my abilities to make the vendor think I was an Arcanist, and to make him think I was leaving by a different gate than I actually was. From there, I made for the city and the rest of the expedition.

I just hope the Link doesn't follow us. But given their tenacity for pursuing slaves, and their lust for vengeance, we'll need to be ready.

Oops.

Well, if Trap's left the city with the expedition he'll be overall observant and try to talk with everyone to find out more about the expedition/world.

Martin, you track down the Link, who is now the talk of the town, to his hideout. However, its empty. All you find is a very battered notebook, which contains a map - revealing something the Link only refers to as the 'Nexus'. It's across the mountains. Hunt 'em down?

Everyone else, do you mind if I pass two days with your travelling? - That brings you to the first checkpoint on the road.

... The bodyguarding assignment was for the Expedition. They may have left without you. :P

Well, then I'll explain/pay later. How far of a journey is it to the mountains?

Two days to the checkpoint. Bout a week from there, good travelling conditional.

I'm planning for few interruptions on the road itself. I just want you to get to the Mountains and the fun part quick.

Of course, that's the expedition. Your map is quite interesting Martin, as it shows the path the Link took, and presumably will be taking. If the high-ups are to be believed, such a journey is impossible, but clearly it ain't.

Just waiting for Acanthus - you'll see why soon.
