Easy mode: Set Titan number to 300-400 or even 1000 on world parameters. Enjoy all the ruined civilizations.

I was having that very problem.  I multiplied the titan count by 10, you see.  My solution was to multiply starting civ populations by 100 (= 1000).  Multiplying pops by 10 (= 100) still resulted in most civilized races dying out.  Even with initial populations at 1000, kobolds often die out by 1050, but I suspect that's due to semimegabeasts rather than titans.  Goblins survive less often than kobolds, possibly because they fight other civs in addition to the masses of titans and other things that go bump in the night.  I pretty consistently get at least one surviving civ of the other three races, though.

So, basically, you can have your cake and eat it too by cranking the starting civ populations.

Or at least more demons than all other species combined.
But that are the defaults.

This is actually part of my current multi-adventurer RP.

I've started a mass crusade against the titans, demons, and forgotten beasts (as well as the semi-mega beasts) that plague the altered-to-be-full-of-all-powerful-creatures world.

I usually ask the locals about the surroundings until I see something about "In a time before time, [insert name here] began wondering [insert place here]."

Then I search. And search. And search. Then I either find it, and kill/be killed by it, or die of thirst/hunger. Which ever comes first.

It would be awesome if you could see them on the travel map. They certainly should be large enough that someone in the area could see them. Much like the groups you can find traveling around the map occasionally.
