So I could say cage a creature that emits a huge vapor cloud then? Would like to make a poisonous hallway...

SUCCESS!  A weapon coated with wolfbane will cause those struck by it to get injected!  However, the process of "producing" such an item is a little tricky... 

What I did was get a creature to walk through a puddle of wolfbane, and then I'd kill them and use the corpse to smash more wolven test subjects.

The victim will not receive a covering of the toxin (such as the 'wolfbane smear, left front foot' caused by walking through a puddle), but the symptoms will show up just the same.

My dwarves secrete clouds of alcohol vapor. I think I will add it to the Genesis mod ASAP :).

Do vapors come out of the cage when the creature is inside, or is it "sealed"? I ask because a creature in a cage doesn't drown, so maybe the cage is impenetrable for secretion too.

What if a creature was sick with CE_COUGH_BLOOD or CE_VOMIT_BLOOD  that had poison blood? maybe you could have it ooze a poison effecting the creature itself only that gives it a blood cough or makes it vomit, and it would randomly poison tiles it walks around on from coughing up blood. Though I'm not sure that it's really got to much use...

Hmm, I wonder if the poison is SYN_CONTACT and ENTERS_BLOOD.... Will the coughed blood contain the said poison? Will it pass as an epidemy to other dwarves? Seems like a cool find if it works.

Nice idea Gamerman. I should try it.

So, do you mean that you tried and the coughing produces "clean" blood because the actual poison in blood is not coded?

I'm a bit too lazy, so here is the idea for mod - Dwarven Machinery Automatons. Basically a set of stationary metallic critters with breath attacks/poisonous secretion, and a 1x1 workshop with reactions that create that critters from metals and stones (for example, iron and coal for flamethrower, steel and some kind of "pyrostone" or explosives for better flamethrower), so they can be placed.

P.S. Maybe super-effective turrets and mines with massive bleeding, created by reactions that need adamantine and a set of good gems.

This will require chained moving automatons.

EDIT: Wait. Are you tested reactions that create non-vermin creatures in DF 0.31.01?

I didn't test it, I know it won't work. [ENTERS_BLOOD] means it has to enter the blood. That's how it works.
