Uh...oookay, apparently one bar of potash produces 24 bars of pearlash. That's handy, I suppose. And no, no clouds, and I have no bloody idea how I'd get magma 20 z-levels into the sky, much less make rivers of the stuff.
Perpetual motion machines running on cat blood that power a huge pump system all the way from z-level 40 to 230.
...It's dwarven heaven, after all.
40 to 230? It's only going to be like ten floors!

10 floors!? How can that be a dwarven heaven?

Rivers of magma. It's dwarven heaven after all.

I stand corrected.

To get magma that high you could build scaffolding (staircases, bridges) and then tear it down when you're finished building the actual structure.

The dwarven Pearly Gates could be a huge archway with magma flowing along the top and cascading down either side of the entrance into a moat where it would fill into a reservoir and get pumped back to the top.

if it's dwarf heaven then you need to get a friendly drunk Bloodman to hang around the place like being the second coming of armok.

Why beds?  Make golden sarcophagi and stuff the place with those.

After all, it is dwarf heaven.

With all the "You're doing X? You should do X times ten instead!" comments, I think this is a good thread to observe the wild Bay12 forumite's act of marking its territory by excessively aggrandizing other threatening forumite's assertions. This is know as the "Up To Eleven" mating ritual in some anthropological circles.

Why not make a dwarf heaven up there and a dwarf hell down there...
And DESTROY EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN!!!
(except the support to keep it from falling of course)

With a lever on the support in hell, that way they can decide if the so called angels really deserve it.

Revelations in the Bible has some very graphic and... interesting depictions of Heaven that you can use for inspiration.

How about flaming bats? Collect/breed bats somehow, then come up with a system that sets a few at a time on fire, then releases them so they can fly around ;D.

I'm just wondering why he's making beds in heaven, seeing as people do tend to die in order to get there.  At least normally.

But, then again, if you're willing to build a gigantic staircase out of gold reaching up to the everafter, maybe you do deserve an early entry.

Just remember to make some rock instruments, so you can immortalize the event...

...The mental image of an animated piece of potash reproducing itself by spores and growing to the exact size of it's former copy in less than 2 frames just to be insta-turned into pearlash because it spawned in a kiln.
Priceless.
