Rain does nothing my dwarfs are caugh tin the rain like 20 times a day and nothing happens.

There's very mixed reports about the deadliness of rain; it's apparently a more complex bug than just "rain is now lethal at all times."

Water in general is still a good source of Fun, however.

Complex or not, it happens. You just need to embark enough. I just abandoned my first because of acid (or ballistic, take your pick) rain about 2 minutes ago.

Kinda wonder if armor helps in the rain, or if it just slices you apart inside your armor.

It may have to do with how high the ceiling is and how high your dwarves are. If there's several hundred Z levels of altitude between you and the sky, I'm assuming Gravity would cause the raindrops to accelerate to the point where they hit dwarves with the lethality of a dagger.

If that's really the cause, that's hilarious. Apparently terminal velocity doesn't exist in Dwarf Fortress.

Not sure about the height of the world thing. It was a world mostly built from the the default. But the fortress was on level 0 ground.

And afaik, terminal velocity doesn't exist in DF.

In Dwarf Fortress... most velocities are terminal.

I thought the rain-deaths were caused by superheated water. I had an adventurer start melting shortly before he drowned once. I thought they were related.

Maybe there are different rains then. I wouldn't put it past Toady to have made acid rains, burning rains, hard rains ect...and they're working too well atm.
