New type of civ adventurer
« on: April 04, 2010, 08:38:44 pm »

I think it would be cool and entirely reasonable if there was a new type of civ adventurer in addition to [WANDERER], [BEAST_HUNTER], and [SCOUT] that would go into the underground layers. All that space down there, it wouldn't be a surprise if a dwarf went down there every once in a while. Of course, it would work best if dwarven mountain halls occasionally had a connection to the underground layers...

Or perhaps it'd be something the underground animal people would do. Mightn't they have adventurers of their own?

Either way, it would be awesome to run into such a character down there. "For 34 of my years, I have explored the depths."

Spelunker, maybe? Spelunkers don't usually fight monsters though.

Caves IRL aren't usually filled with bizarre things from the nightmares of the Creator, tho'.

Mining teams are an option. The caverns are filled with riches, I don't think it'd be odd to encounter a small operation.

As for treasure hunting, what treasure?

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...
It should be pretty fun though.

I was thinking along the lines of a "beast-hunter," but underground, perhaps. Why should above-ground beasts get all the love? :-P
