Doors as Levers
« on: March 04, 2008, 02:30:00 pm »

This idea was inspired by a question in the Gameplay Questions forum.

Doors could be used as levers, so everytime someone or something moved through the door whatever the door was linked to would be activated.

How about an addition:

Booby traps: A locked door that, when destroyed, triggers a mechanism. Like a boulderroll or bridgeout or magma floodgate trap, that triggers when some sieging troll destroys a door. Or supports to cave in a magma channel if the floodgate gets demolished, as a safety measure to avoid permaflooding (now that we have magma as a renewable resource again).

It'd be nice if you could trap doors with weapon traps so that when a lockpicker hit it there'd be a chance that it would activate.

It's very very slowly renewable.  Carving out my magma furnace works took 28x7 magma.  It took over a year to replenish that.
