This.
Ass monster. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

I would say to get your mind out of the gutter (they mean as in donkey) but after the cream demon incident, I guess I can't act like I'm any better...

So, I tediously awaited the arrival of the dwarven caravan (I'm set up on a island, see)... And, they came. My fingers tingled, my nose twitched and my toes tickled... they came around the corner, over my bridge... Into my courtyard... Onto my trade depot...

Then everything near it exploded in a cloud of blood.

When I first started the game, I was thrilled at wandering the wilds. I went to an elf retreat which had long ago been razed and completely annihilated by goblin hordes 30 years back. Thought maybe I'd come across old remains, or items scattered about... maybe even goblins still wandering around.

I found a fully dressed donkey calmly standing in the middle of a clearing: http://i41.tinypic.com/fuz75u.jpg

Elves, man.

Elves.

they actually don't mean donkeys, there's no where in the raws that allows a donkey to be referred to as an ass.......

Apologies if this is a rather common thing. I've personally never seen anything like this before.

Wandering around looking for animals to stab to death (There doesn't seem to be any wildlife on my current world...) saw a cave so I decided to go check it out. Maybe there will be somethin...

Wait a second. What is all that?

Sweet jesus! This entire mountain is covered in food and booze! There's enough food here to feed all of Africa for at least half a decade!

Piles upon piles of food on almost every tile. Puddles of random booze all over the place as well, with a few wooden trinkets laying under all this junk.

I glanced in legends to try and figure out what happened here. Turns out the "giantess" who owned the cave  had wiped out two elven civilizations and had pillaged just about every food item a third elven civilization has ever made for the last 673 years since it was formed.

All perfectly edible too. 827 year old "Prepared horse liver" anyone?

Talked to a human.  His cousin is also his uncle?  I couldn't wrap my brain around it so I just moved on.

That's easy, his cousin just would have had to kill his brother who already had a child(The human in question and be with said brother's wife.

I was exploring the deepest depths of my world's cave systems when I encountered something called a flesh blob. It just sat there, being a blob of flesh, floating in the water. Weirdest thing was that it was also immortal. I slashed at it with my trusty axe until I was over-exerted and it still lived, even though its body was damaged quite a bit.

That's odd. Flesh blobs should only be immune to bashing weapons, as they only have bodies.

I actually went into the Legends once when I received that message, and built a small family tree to figure out where it all went wrong. Here's how it happens (at least in this one case):

I go talk to Fatkid. Fatkid's mom is LadyDwarf.

LadyDwarf's sister (Fatkid's aunt) has two sons, Uristoedipus and Bob. Uristoedipus and LadyDwarf decide the bond between nephew and aunt is way way deeper than it should be, and they have a kid- Fatkid. Fatkid lets me know in idle conversation that Bob is both her uncle and her cousin because of this incestual coupling.

Now if anyone ever quizzes you on how an uncle can be a cousin, you're set. Thanks, Dwarf Fortress.

You know, I'm starting to wonder if Toady is doing this with evil intent. I mean, there were the threads about Merpeople and Plump Helmet Men in which how one could most effectively farm, force breed, and slaughter these sentient creatures for profit. And now we have this whole incest tracking thing going on.

Perhaps Hitler's ghost inhabits Bay 12?

I'd been going in and out of this cave where there were a bunch of giants and every ingame day my adventurer would go in, kill a giant and come out. On the fifth day when I went in to loot the place having killed the last giant I found a mule bone figure, of my adventurer.   ???

That sounds like the ending of an Edgar Allan Poe story.
