Weirdest thing you've encountered
« on: April 04, 2010, 03:31:48 am »

This includes forgotten beasts or their not so forgotten cousins on the surface, of course.  For me, it was when I wiped out an elf forest retreat with five elves you announced themselves.  Much later after my adventurer had died, I went into Legends to look up some of my more memorable kills.  My jaw dropped when, after looking up these elves (I had jotted down their names, something I did for all unique kills), I saw that they, and every other elf in the retreat, killed and ate humans.  Next adventure, it's personal.  >:(

I thought it was normal for an elf to eat humans, or maybe that was an old bug that got fixed i'm not sure never really looked at legends

Yes, one of the many good reasons to kill elves on sight is that they eat people that they kill. This tends not to go over well with their neighbors.

Well when I was looking up my adventurers in legend mode, I saw that one of my adventurer, who had killed over thirty humans and some dorfs who had been captured and brainwashed by goblins had the following entry after his death entry:

in mid-spring 1052 Urist Mac Adventurer's corpse was impaled on a bronze spear by the demon of kissing (I think the demon of kissing was the goblins' leader demon)

Sadly I have erased all evidence of this, but I'll see if I can recreate something like this.

Dont know if it matter but my adventurer was worshipping a god, maybe the god got angry sadly i dont have that world anymore so i cant tell exactly what happent

that was a luky dwarf. I had one dabbling surgeon fail so spectacularly that the patient skull flew a tile away from the table.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

I was fighting a hydra with a human hammerman. After breaking nearly EVERYTHING in the hydra's body... I "jammed the skull; first head through the brain; first head" It never said I broke the skull, so it wasn't a shard of the skull that got jammed through. The whole skull jammed through the brain... which *should* be inside the skull?

Apparently you managed to hit it so hard in just the right way that you defied the basic properties of a skull and made it implode. Awesome.

So, I tediously awaited the arrival of the dwarven caravan (I'm set up on a island, see)... And, they came. My fingers tingled, my nose twitched and my toes tickled... they came around the corner, over my bridge... Into my courtyard... Onto my trade depot...

Then everything near it exploded in a cloud of blood.

A forest Titan. The Olive Demon, who is also referred to as Master Thrown Target. A giant Sheep twisted into Humanoid form, with external ribs. It is olive colored.

When I was told to hunt a demon, I was expecting something that wasn't a giant sheep. >.>

Definitely the Cream Demon. It was coincidentally the most hilarious too, what with me slashing its lower body leading to a description saying "his lower body is gouting cream demon goo".

I didn't know that humans/other NPCs died of old age during Adventurer play, I was steps away from the general of a human town, hoping to get myself a new quest, and he upped and died right there.  Naturally the rest of the town was laid to rest with him shortly there after.

going into a cave then finding about 6 giants all on different levels in this cave.
The only level that had 2 giants on it 1 of them fought me while the other just waited. Then i kill the first one and then the 2nd runs at me  :D

I find out that the cave was the only entrance to an underground cavern that is MASSIVE  ;D
I dont see why so many giants would want to defend a massive swimming pool with some toads, trogs and crocs in it  :P

Probably an old bug:

An elf was firing a bow at me, I chopped off one of his arms, and he continued to fire the bow at me. Maybe he was using his teeth.

While exploring a Goblin tower I suddenly got the message: "The Sacred Vegetation is no longer stunned."

Immediately I pictured that mutant that fused with the tree from Fallout 3.
