Dude, I became convinced this thing has a certain level of self-awareness when I started getting berserking or mooding dwarves killing off the people directly responsible for killing off their loved ones and making them depressed enough to berserk/mood.

Same story here, I had a dwarf who pulled a lever which resulted in the death of another dwarfs wife.  He went berserk and beat him to death.

We are reaching a point where DF's antics stop being funny and start being scary. The only reason I don't implore that Toady stop making this is because Dwarf Fortress cannot be rearranged to spell Skynet.

Gah, i'd love to read the creature description, but some basic image editing would make this far more plausible.

(1) for the love of god crop out all the blackspace at the bottom.

(2) shrinking the image display so it actually fits on a normal size monitor would be nice.  I've got 1400 pixels across mine - any image from DF that won't fit on that is stupidly large.
